COURSE OUTLINE

FOOD SAFETY IN CATERING LEVEL 2

The purpose of this course is to provide food handlers with the knowledge of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practices. It will also prepare them with the practical skills required to work in a safe environment with food.

In 2006, new EU legislation introduced HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) legislation into the UK.

This necessitated a review of food safety training to combine the old 'Basic Food Hygiene' training with HACCP. The new training is called Food Safety Training at levels 1 & 2. These standards have now replaced the old Basic Food Hygiene standards.

This course is ideal for employees who work in a catering, retail or manufacturing environment. This can include people who are preparing, handling and also the cooking of food.

The programme focuses on the slightly more advanced aspects of food safety and makes employees aware of the many variables that can impact handling and preparing food. If you are looking to develop skills in food safety, this course will fulfill all of your needs.
